I. Apostille Agreement
An "apostille"is a form of authentication issued to documents for use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961. It is a multilateral agreement which makes it possible to make a document to be legalized without having to go through complex procedures. A documents can be verified in a country which the document is issued.

II. Apostille Confirmation
Apostilleconfirmation refers to the documents which are issued when a document to beused overseas is verified by the Ministry of Foreign affairs.
III. Effect of Apostille Agreement
①To be verified as a valid document overseas the document has to meetrequirements which a country requires.
- Usually, the documents should haveconfirmation from a country which the document is submitted by acquiringconfirmation of the stamps and signature on the document.
② It saves time and energy to get authentification of the document from the country where the document wouldsubmitted, making it possible to avoid complex procedures.
For example, you don't need to visit the USembassy to get legalization from the US consulate, instead you can getapostille confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
③ As many Koreans are livingabroad in countries like the US, Japan, UK, France, and Germany, and havingbusinesses overseas the benefits from the Apostille agreement will increase,enhancing the efficiency of document processing.
