Resident Registration of Korean Nationals Residing Abroad(or Permanent Resident )

1. Recipient of Resident Registration of Korean Nationals Residing Abroad

o As the Korean Nationals who immigrated abroad and entry to stay more than 30 days.

* ACT ON THE IMMIGRATION AND LEGAL STATUS OF OVERSEAS KOREANS

Article 2. (Definition) The term "overseas Korean" in this Act means a person who falls under any of the following subparagraphs:

1. A national of the Republic of Korea who has acquired the right of permanent residence in a foreign country or is residing in a foreign country with a view to living there permanently (hereinafter referred to as a "Korean national residing abroad"); and

2. A person prescribed by Presidential Decree from among those who, having held the nationality of the Republic of Korea (including those who had emigrated abroad before the Government of the Republic of Korea was established) or as their lineal descendants, have acquired the nationality of a foreign country (hereinafter referred to as a "foreign nationality Korean").

        o The Korean Nationals who immigrated abroad after 22nd January 2015

2. The issuance of Resident Registration for Korean Nationals residing abroad

      o Recipient : Korean Nationals residing abroad and over 17 years old

      o Procedure : Please apply your residence place of Si/Gun/Gu office

 3. Report of Place of Residence in Korea

      o Procedure : The person who entry or depart Korea are more than 30 days

     * If reported “Oversea Immigration Report(Ministry of Foreign Affair)”, it's processed automatically.

       o Required Documents : The documents which can be proved the Korean Nationals residing abroad

       o Place of Report : residence place of Si/Gun/Gu office

(*) If the permanent residents who are already reported, they can use it in the future.

4. The documents requirement when invested to Korea

     o In case of the permanent residents abroad,

    - The Korea Resident card can be used the Resident Registration of Korean.

    - Therefore it's possible to issue the copy of resident registration and personal registration.

(However the conditions is required to stay in Korea more than 30 days ) o Regarding the Foreign Direct Investment of permanent Resident,

- Permanent Resident(Korea National) is no Alien and tt's no applicable to  report as per the Foreign   Investment Promotion Act. But it'll be stick to apply the procedure of foreign currency trade as per the Foreign currency transaction Act.
