1. Youth Employment Subsidies

 

 

<1> Supported sector

(1) Priority support companies and midsizecompanies employing five or more employees covered by the insurance as of 2018(A company with newly adopted employment insurance in 2019, the end of themonth in which the establishment date of employment insurance)

(Priority companies: Applicable to the range of companies eligible forpriority support under Article 12 of the Enforcement Decree of the EmploymentInsurance Act -> Attachment)

 

(2) However, evenif the number of employees insured under the employment insurance policy ismore than 1 and less than 5 (business unit), the following companies are ableto apply for priority support companies and shall submit data to prove thecompany's sector.

 

* Growth promising industries, knowledgeservice industry, cultural content industry, venture enterprise, renewableenergy industry, youth start-up companies, etc. (Attachment for growthpromising industry, knowledge service industry, cultural contents industry)

 

 

<2> Exceptions

(1) Consumption, entertainment sector

(2) Companies that are trying to receivetwo or more grants or subsidies for identical workers or for workers who werenot paid

 

 

<3>Requirement for companies (Subsidiesare provided if following requirements are met)

(1) Companies shall recruit young people basedon the company's size

A company with less than 30 employees =>One or more young people shall be recruited

A company with 30 to 90 employees => Twoor more young people shall be recruited

A company with more than 100 employees=> Three or more young people shall be recruited

 

(2) The number of employees (number of insured persons) has to be increased

 

(3) Examples
A company with 20 insured per year by 2018 has received subsidies for 3 youngemployees. On April 15, 2019 one of the young employee has left the company andif the total number of insured persons as of the end of April 15th 2019is 22, the company can receive subsidies for 2 people can apply for labor costs

 

<4> Requirements for new recruitment

(1) Newly recruited employee has to bebetween 15 and 34 years of age.

(2) A company has to apply for thesubsidiary within 6 months after hiring a young employee.

(3) Newly hired employee has to be a fulltime worker with a social insurance, comply with minimum wage and workcontracts with no fixed deadlines

 

<5> Details of subsidiary

(1) If the company meets the employmentrequirements and hires additional young people, 90 million won will be providedper person for 3 years. (total of 27 million won)

(2) Applications can be made every threemonths. Applications may be made for one or two months depending on the needsof the business.

(3) The requirement for subsidiary is confirmedend of each month after the subsidy is first provided and subsidy is given onlywhen the requirements are all met. If requirements are not met in certainmonth, subsidy is not provided in that particular month.
